I don’t even LIKE to cook or bake, but I was amazed by this time-lapse video of a woman creating a cake that bore almost too good a resemblance to her dog. Check it out.

I found this when I was having a lively debate with someone about how much the Bush administration has managed to completely mess up our country. Obviously it is biased, but honestly, what isn’t? You have to read what you can find and make your own decisions.

News sources are sited. Make your own decisions and do more research before you decide who to vote for in this year’s election. See what types of policies threw wrenches into the works and make sure your candidate is aware of the broader scope of policy changes.

We can’t keep patching our gaping wounds with Band-Aids. Vote for someone you think has good solutions that address several issues at once, not someone who looks at one issue and solves it for now, but creates a brand new problem or doesn’t solve the underlying problem which will then simply resurface.

There are times when I am surfing the web when my complete and utter lack of graphic design skills just hits me in the face like a two ton brick. Times when I stumble upon posts like this at WebDesignerWall that praise graphic design skills.

I must admit a certain envy of the creativity of graphic designers. I simply would never envision the beautiful sites they come up with. It’s not that I couldn’t code it, it’s that I’d never come up with it to start with.

Having me start up Photoshop is like having someone who hates to write open up a blank notebook and asking them to write a short story. I sit there and stare at the blank screen and proceed to come up with nothing whatsoever to put there. Sure, design is easy. You stare at the screen until your forehead bleeds. It’s just painful.

As a middle and back end programmer, seeing the front-end designs that some of these people come up with astounds me. Go check out the post and see if you aren’t impressed.

LifeHacker.com posted a Top 10 Obscure Google Search Tips a couple weeks ago that included a couple of my favorites, such as searching for similar words and currency conversion.

The readers proceeded to post a metric crapload more, including how to get weather, movie listings, and track your packages. There’s apparently a recipe search as well. Go figure.

Go give it a read if you do much searching on Google.
